FAQ Friday #58 - Do you have valves for a Gemini Zap Cat? Or service kits?

FAQ Friday #58 - Do you have valves for a Gemini Zap Cat? Or service kits?

In the past whenever I've been sent a photo of a Gemini / Zap Cat valve my heart has always sunk that we've had to say "no - sorry, we don't have these valves or a service kit". We've only ever been able to supply a valve replacement kit.

But I now have good news...

This week, a Zap Cat owner popped in with one of his Gemini Zap Cat valves. This particular Zap Cat has a number of valves that leak, because the diaphragm/spindle combination is totally missing. This meant the boat owner has been 100% reliant on very quickly getting the valve cap in place once his tubes have been inflated.

Whilst we don't have a valve with the same threads, what we did realise is that a Leafield Marine A7/B7 Service Kit would fit.

The boat owner has since reported back that this has worked! Great news - a simple, cheap and quick fix!

So if you have a Gemini valve that leaks badly, we can now offer the Leafield Marine A7/B7 Service Kit with confidence.

Here's the valve showing the spindle and spring:

And here's the same valve showing the diaphragm fitted:

P.S. the cap seal that is part of the A7/B7 service kit isn't needed and isn't shown in the photo above.
