FAQ Friday #59 - My boat has Bravo 2000 inflation valves, but what inflation adaptor do I need?

FAQ Friday #59 - My boat has Bravo 2000 inflation valves, but what inflation adaptor do I need?

We often hear from customers that their bayonet type adaptor doesn't fit the Bravo 2000 inflation valves on their boat. When it comes to working out what adaptor is needed, it's always good to check what the valve is first, so how can we identify the Bravo 2000 valve?

The Bravo 2000 valve will often (but not always) say "Bravo 2000" on the centre of the cap and it's quite distinguishable with it's butterfly like, lift up wings on the cap too. Once the cap has been removed, there are 4 indented/moulded circles - you can see one of these circles in the photo below.

Unlike other Bravo valves, the Bravo 2000 does NOT take a bayonet type adaptor. The Bravo 2000 requires a specific screw in adaptor which is shown below. The screw in adaptor will push into a pump hose that is 16mm or 21mm diameter.

And here's the adaptor fitted into the Bravo 2000 valve.

It's worth noting that some of the fittings which go from the pump hose into the body of foot pumps can look similar to the Bravo 2000 adaptor, but they are not the same and won't fit!

So if you have a Bravo 2000 inflation/deflation valve, you need the Bravo 2000 valve adaptor.
